Booking a wildlife safari with us

Join Ed or Liz on a guided wildlife safari to explore the stunning landscapes and amazing wildlife of the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.

You can either contact us directly to organise a private booking, tailored to you or your group, or join an organised safari through the Tudor Farmhouse Hotel or the Yuup experiences website.

Private bookings and vouchers

We offer flexible and accessible wildlife experiences for individuals, couples and groups of all ages and backgrounds, throughout the year. These can range from two hours long to a half or full day. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss any particular requirements you might have.

Our guided experiences can include:

• Listening for woodland birds on a dawn chorus or evening birdsong walk.
• Looking for the elusive wild boar or deer.
• Listening for ‘churring’ nightjars and roding woodcock.
• Discovering woodland birds, butterflies and trees.
• Exploring the forest for its special birds such as hawfinches, crossbills and peregrines.
• Walking around the outside of the beaver enclosures to try and spot beaver signs.
• Enjoying a guided walk through the forest, taking in its inspiring landscapes, learning about its history and spotting wildlife along the way.

Prices

Prices for private safaris vary depending on the offer. For example, a two-hour evening walk in the Forest of Dean will be from £125 for up to four people and then an additional £25 per person.

Please note that for certain walks we keep group sizes small (up to eight people) to reduce disturbance and maximise our chances of spotting wildlife, and to provide a more personal experience.

Other ways to book

Tudor Farmhouse

We also offer wildlife safaris as part of a small group (up to eight people) in partnership with the Tudor Farmhouse Hotel, an award-winning boutique hotel in the heart of the Forest of Dean. An afternoon tea or charcuterie board and wine are included.

Ed also runs longer nature retreats and nature journal safaris with the hotel.

Yuup

We have teamed up with the experiences website Yuup to provide organised wildlife safaris (up to 8–10 people) that you can book by following the links below – these include daytime safaris, evening/dusk safaris and early birdsong adventures. You can also purchase a safari as a gift through the Yuup website.
